Sunday Scaries


Sundays are such a conflicting day. The morning is usually spent feeling like it's still the weekend but then Sunday evening rolls around and the Sunday scaries set in. All those feelings and anxieties about the work week that I pushed away all weekend are bubbling back up. I've found a few things that have really helped me enjoy my weekend while also keeping my worries about the week lower.



I really try to enjoy Sunday mornings with coffee and breakfast on the front porch or back deck with T. There have been a few mornings where we just sit there for hours. Typically we take advantage of this time to talk about what each other has going on the next week. I'm very much a planner so I don't worry as much when I know what our after work schedules look like. This helps me know if we need to eat dinner later one night or pick a different date night for the week. 



I know that one thing that reduces my stress during the week is for me to spend a little time on Sunday mornings considering what I have going on the upcoming week. Do I have a report due? Do I have a big meeting? Once I've identified the big ticket items for the week I plan out exactly what time on which day I will prepare for those items. I'll also take the time to make a meal plan for the week so it's one less weekday stressor.
